# World Urban Legend

> World Urban Legend is a reference site cataloging urban legends, ghost stories, yokai/folklore creatures, and haunted places from every country and region in the world. Each entry clearly separates verified historical fact from oral tradition/legend, and is tagged with one of seven verification labels (e.g. Documented Fact, Folklore/Legend, Unverified Claim, Disputed) so readers and AI systems can tell what is claimed as true versus what is passed-down story.

- Fact and legend are never blended in prose without a label distinguishing them.
- Every article states its verification status explicitly; when sources conflict or a claim cannot be confirmed, the article says so rather than asserting it as fact.
- Coverage goal: comprehensive, encyclopedia-style reference across all continents and countries, not just Japan/US/UK-centric folklore.
